Since established, Newcomers of the Eastern Shore has extended a friendly welcome to residents new to the area and to residents who have experienced other changes in their lives. Today our club continues with the same mission: welcoming members from many states and from around the world. You just might meet someone who grew up in Alabama and could not wait to move back to the Eastern Shore.
The business of the club is directed by an all volunteer Board of Directors that is elected annually by the membership. The board organizes the luncheons and sponsors a wide variety of activities and interest groups. Everything that is planned is designed for the benefit of club members.
Attending our monthly luncheons is a great way to meet new people, connect with friends and just have fun. Luncheons are held on the third Tuesday of each month at a variety of locations. Each luncheon features a guest speaker or special program of interest and a short business meeting. In June, July and August Summer Coffees are held at a member's home instead of the monthly luncheon.
Interest groups are the heart of the club! Participation in one or more of the club's activities and interest groups lets you share with people who have the same interests, develop friendships and have an enjoyable time. Many of the evening activities and groups include not only members but spouses and guests. There is something for everyone!
